No — parsing, editing, and export all happen in your browser. Your file is never sent to a server, which matters if the document is a legal, medical, or otherwise sensitive record.
What if the bookmarks point to the wrong page?
Type the correct page number directly into a bookmark's page field, or use the bulk page-offset shift if every bookmark is off by the same amount — common in scanned documents where a cover page throws every entry off by one.
Tree view vs. text view — which should I use?
Tree view suits mouse-driven reordering and nesting changes on a document with a manageable number of bookmarks. Text view is faster for bulk edits — find-and-replace across dozens of titles, or pasting in a whole outline at once.
Can I add bookmarks that were never there?
Yes. Add a root entry or a child under any existing bookmark, set its title and page, and it's written into the outline on export exactly like the ones that were already there.
